Every piece starts with a sketch
The design process always starts with a doodle, many time the blurry image wakes me from my sleep. I quickly jot down the idea in a sketchbook I keep next to my bed. I take that quick doodle and draw it again with more detail (seen here). Most of the pieces don't make it past this stage. This ring in particular was made into a brass sample but the colored glass enamel was never added. I think I'll revisit this this one someday, soon.
